Evangelization Ministry

Evangelization means to fulfil the missionary mandate of Jesus Christ, who commanded us to “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Mt 28:18). “The transmission of the Christian faith consists primarily in proclaiming Jesus Christ in order to lead others to faith in him. From the beginning, the first disciples burned with the desire to proclaim Christ: “We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). And they invite people of every era to enter into the joy of their communion with Christ. Catechism of the Catholic Church 425. Every baptized person: “To teach in order to lead others to faith is the task of every preacher and of each believer” (St. Thomas Aquinas). “The Church in her very nature is missionary, sent by Christ to all nations to make disciples of them” Catechism of the Catholic Church 767.

The constitution of our congregation no: 102 insists that “We, who are engaged in full-time evangelization work, proclaim the word of God in every possible way and promote the gospel values among the people through our prayer and exemplary life. Even when engaged in other apostolic works we find time to do evangelization work realizing that it is the primary work of the church.”[Our constitution no: 102]. Thus, we the sisters of Tanjore Province take involve in evangelisation ministry by teaching catechism in the school and the parish, visiting the houses, inspiring the Anbiams with our presence and organization, guiding the parish youth and the children, conducting pious associations, consoling and counselling the needy by house visits, etc. Moreover, we contribute our quality service to the Mother Church and the people of God through our prayer and exemplary life. We proclaim the Word of God in every possible way and impart the values of Christ in the life of the people.
